Description
Shiraz is the main grape variety grown at Rosnay and the 25-year-old vines have weathered several droughts and floods. After a wet spring and summer, the shiraz in the 2022 vintage enjoyed dry and warm ripening conditions allowing us to harvest the grapes with a slight shrivel and with optimum tannin and ripeness.
The must was fermented on skins for 6-8 days at 22 degrees C using traditional open top fermenters, hand punch-down and pump-over, and wild yeast. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured for 8 months in old oak barrels and steel tanks prior to bottling without any fining.
This wine benefits from a bit of air before drinking, to help integrate its aromas, flavours and tannins.
