Wine practices handed down over centuries of family tradition. The D’Onise family are proud southern Italians who value natural winemaking processes that capture the essence of the land in each glass.
Antonio’s early winemaking passion was born working beside his father in the Roccastel vineyard. Hard work and sweat allowed him to earn his Bachelor of Oenology at the University of Adelaide with Distinction. Keen to learn from the renowned winemakers from landmark international wine regions, Antonio travelled to complete vintages in Chablis, Moselle Valley, Tuscany, Chianti and Tokaji.
Antonio’s wines are simply created for maximum pleasure. The wines are authentic, varietal, well balanced and offer moreish mouth feel.
The first Antonio’s range produced an award-winning Pinot Gris from a single vineyard at a national level. Antonio feels it important to continue to develop and evolve his wine styles to match those that enjoy his wines and the modern Australian taste.
At the moment, these are Australian wines that are fruit driven and soft with quality never comprimised. What makes Antonio’s wines special is that they are textured and elegant. They can be enjoyed standalone on a sunny afternoon or savoured with a lovingly created meal.
Antonio’s wines are available for select tastings and for purchase at the Cowra Visitor Information Centre, open from 8:30 am – 5 pm weekdays, and 8:30 am – 3:30 pm on weekends.
