The Cowra Visitor Information Centre is an essential first stop for visitors to the Cowra region.
Our centre is home to ‘Clare’ the local girl who tells her personal account of the Cowra Breakout through a fascinating hologram presentation. The hologram is a free theatre and continues to be as popular as ever, with over 60,000 visitors our friendly team welcomes each year.
The Cowra Visitor Information Centre is your one-stop shop for local & regional information, maps, local produce, craft and stocks a variety of Cowra Region Wines.
Select a bottle of award-winning wine and some local produce to enjoy during your stay or better still, allow us to customise a hamper of local produce for you to enjoy during your stay.
The Cowra Visitor Information Centre is open from 8:30am – 5pm weekdays and from 8:30am – 3:30pm on weekends. We are open every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day.
P.O.W HOLOGRAM THEATRE
The Cowra POW Hologram is a 9-minute hologram that recounts the tragic story of the Cowra Breakout in 1944. The theatre is housed in a small tin replica of a hut found at the Cowra Prisoner of War Camp during World War II. The hologram tells the story of the Cowra Breakout through the eyes of Clare, a young Cowra local. The presentation is aimed at raising awareness of the historical significance of Cowra in modern military history and to encourage visitation to other local attractions and locations of historical importance.
The famous POW Hologram Theatre is the best place to start your historical journey through the Cowra region.
The Hologram is free for all visitors, however we appreciate a heads up if you are coming. This helps us to accommodate for group bookings. Please book your free ticket below.
LOCAL PRODUCT
Our Centre is proud to stock local products from across the region, including olive oils, flavoured vinegars, jams, relishes, honey, nuts, figs and spice mixes. We also stock a range of books about the local area, the history of the Wiradjuri People and the Cowra Breakout.
