2026 COWRA CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

Kick off the festive season with a weekend of country Christmas charm in the heart of Cowra. Held annually, the Cowra Christmas Festival brings the community together to celebrate everything we love about Christmas in the country—festive lights, local shopping, great food, live entertainment and plenty of family fun.

Cowra’s main street is closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant Christmas marketplace, filled with market stalls showcasing local produce, handmade gifts, artisan creations, fashion, homewares and festive treasures. Wander through the stalls to the sound of Christmas carols before enjoying dinner or a sweet treat from the bustling Eat Street.

For the little ones, Christmas Wonderland offers free activities, festive entertainment and magical photo opportunities with Santa. Throughout the evening, enjoy live music, dance performances, community entertainment and, of course, Santa’s much-anticipated arrival.

Local retailers also throw open their doors for late-night Christmas shopping, making it the perfect opportunity to support local businesses, find unique gifts and soak up the warm country hospitality that makes Christmas in Cowra so special.

The festival is a collaborative effort between Visit Cowra, Cowra Council, Business Cowra, NSW SES Cowra and the Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre.

It’s time to start planning your Christmas light display as the residents of the Cowra Shire battle it out for a share of $5,000 in Cowra Cash Cards! Entries are open from the 1st of November 2026 and close on Tuesday 15th December 2026.

2025 Festival Wrap Up

In 2025, the Cowra Christmas Festival showcased the talent of the Cowra & Central West community with performances from the Cowra Vocal Ensemble, Cowra Ballet School, Bekki Brown, Emily Reynolds, Dom Lenarduzzi and The Safety of Life At Sea.
